GOOD NEWS OF THE DAY! We are proud DISD parents and we are constantly impressed with the strong leadership and support our schools have. We were able to spend some time at John Ireland Elementary, located in a low income part of Dallas. Their principal, Ms. Stephanie Amaya has led with a clear and determined vision has implemented extraordinarily positive changes. We visited the school when the organization Shoes That Fit donated a brand new pair of athletic shoes to EVERY SINGLE STUDENT! That is more than 500 kids! Having a new pair of shoes helps the students with self esteem, safety and even school attendance. What a gift, indeed.
